Self-Guided Audio Tour: (Click here) 

Narrated by award winning actor Chris Haywood and with comments and observations by in-mates, warders and other workers this is Maitland Gaol's newest way of understanding this extensive site. Available every day (subject to site bookings) from 10:00am to 4:00pm. We recommend that visitors arrive no later than 3:00pm to obtain the total Maitland Gaol experience.

Ex-Inmate Day Tour: (Click here)

Experience the personal accounts of one who knew Maitland Gaol the best - an Ex-Inmate. Not for the feint-hearted and with some age restrictions, these are one of Maitland Gaol's favourite tours. Now available as a day tour on Saturday and Sunday at 11:00am (pre-book and pre-pay) (subject to site bookings).

Adults: $15.00   Concession: $12.00   (approx. 90 minute tour)

Torchlight Tours: (Click here)

Three very different themed public tours are available. Experience the personal accounts of an Ex-Inmate tour, learn the facts and stories of Maitland Gaol on a History tour or pursue the supernatural on a Psychic tour. Tours available every Friday and Saturday evening (subject to function bookings). Call us to find out the type of tour scheduled for your preferred night - BYO torch! Conditions apply.

Adults: $21.00 - $26.00   Concession: $18.00 - $21.00.

Group Tours:

Private Group Tours: - Tours to suit your schedule outside of regular public tour times. We can cater for schools, car clubs, social groups, Probus clubs and more (minimum numbers apply). Introductory and Themed Tours available.

School Group Tours: - Tailored especially for school groups and relating to a specific syllabus requirement.Talk to us about your requirements and ask for a copy of our Schools' Kit designed for the High School History Syllabus. Also ideal for Maths, English and Social Studies excursions to name a few. Introductory and Themed Tours available.

Group Activities:

Sleepover: (Click here) - This special "no frills" group activity is for those who dare to spend the night in Maitland Gaol. It's BYO beds and torches. Groups of 25 or more on Monday - Friday evenings. Conditions apply. Phone for details.

Dinner and Tour: (Click here) - A complete night out with a two course dinner served in 'Porridge Cafe' and then either an Ex-inmate or History tour of Maitland Gaol. Minimum numbers of 25 apply. Available every night of the week subject to other bookings. Satisfy your hunger for stories and food all at the one time!  Phone for details and bookings.
